Some Plot

The New York Times is a little on the late side in reporting on the “controversy” of the film, but they did offer this about the plot:

“Tiana, a waitress and budding chef who dreams of owning a restaurant, is persuaded to kiss a frog who is really a prince.  The spell backfires and — poof! — she is also an amphibian. Accompanied by a Cajun firefly and a folksy alligator, the couple search for a cure.”

This explains the trailers, which were released several weeks ago, and are now being shown in the theater.

I hope Disney continues releasing clips because 1) I like them and 2) I think some of the bad publicity will be replaced with more positive anticipation as they plug along.  That’s not to say that the criticism is all inconstructive, but most of it is old.  Clips and snippets get old very quickly, too.  We’re waiting for something new to talk about.
